Food allergies and statement

Providing safe food to children is a top priority.

National Food Safety regulation requires us to declare where common food allergens exist in our food and whether an alternative can be provided. A Food allergen chart (PDF, 311KB) has been created that identifies each menu item that the Centre makes and its corresponding allergen content.

Unless otherwise stated, the kitchen staff can offer a modified version of a menu item or an alternative to cater for children with an identified allergy. The Centre makes every effort to cater for other food allergens if you have provided sufficient information on the consent (PDF, 182KB) and medical form (PDF, 124KB).

Despite our best efforts, the Centre cannot guarantee that it is free of any food allergen, although every effort is made to ensure that your child will not be exposed to it whilst they are here.

Special dietary requirements

Maroon Outdoor Education Centre is committed to providing for the individual needs of every student where possible. Managing special dietary needs (including the need to manage allergies to certain foods) is an important aspect of our provision of an educational experience for your child. For us to cater for your child’s dietary needs ensure that you:

  1. Complete the parental consent form (PDF, 182KB) clearly identifying your child’s individual dietary needs and management.
  2. Discuss any identified special dietary needs with your school’s coordinator.
  3. Review the information on this page and complete a dietary management form (190KB) for your school's coordinator.
  4. Contact the Centre for clarification if after these steps you are still unsure of our ability to manage your child’s diet.
