Testimonial Responses for 2024

Claremont Special School - Head of Department
  • I visited the Camp in February  for the first time.
  • Camp Coordinator
  • Gaining independence, having experiences which align with peers their own age in mainstream schools, challenging their resilience and flexibility of mind
  • increased resilience, experiences to bring back to school and use in reflection, future curriculum opportunities
  • beautiful natural setting, enthusiastic staff, willingness to differentiate activities and programs to include students with disabilities
  • work closely with Program Coordinator to adjust schedules and ensure program is differentiated, visit Camp before hand.
  • This year we took a young man who has never been to camp before. It took a lot of planning on behalf of the family and school to ensure that the Camp was accessible for him, but it has been life changing. He has provided only positive feedback about the camp and is already talking to me about changes and ways to improve his experience in 2025.

Pine Rivers State High School Year 7 teacher
  • The first camp I attended at MOEC was 2022
  • My role this year was a Visiting Teacher
  • As an outdoor recreation teacher myself I get to live and breathe what I teach 24/7 for a week which is invaluable for my development personally and professionally. Learning from some of the best Outdoor Education teachers in QLD is a great way to increase my knowledge for when I teach classes back at school.
  • Students who participate in a MOEC program only see the change for what they put into the program. Students that engage are rewarded both intrinsically and extrinsically which is invaluable for their development into young adults. They are able to learn new things and put that knowledge straight into action throughout MOEC’s numerous diverse learning experiences.
  • As my schools motto is by different ways to excellence, MOEC’s certainly allows us to enable our students to achieve that. Getting out of the classroom, giving our diverse student group opportunities they wouldn’t normally be afforded is invaluable. The strength of the school is built on the staff who run great programs with great facilities which create the best experiences for all.
  • Assure you book in early as MOEC is a very popular school that’ll give your students unique opportunities to learn and grow
  • A couple of younger students have created new friendships on camp and have continued these bonds back at school, which wouldn’t have occurred without MOEC.

Boonah State High School - Dean of Senior School
  • Our first year 10 camp in a while just occurred in term 2 this year.
  • Co-ordinator
  • Students were challenged in the camp out, which promoted a sense of pride and personal growth.  Spending so much time together also meant that friendships and teamwork skills were strengthened.
  • Students left with a real sense of 'look what I was able to achieve'.
  • MOEC staff do a wonderful job in promoting both sustainability and personal growth.
  • Start the paperwork early.
  • Many students expressed that they wished the camp was longer.  One student in particular is a student who does not lead in the classroom, but stepped up and lead on camp.
