Maroon Outdoor Education Centre is operated by the Queensland Department of Education and Training. The centre is located on the shores of Lake Maroon south-west of Brisbane in the foothills of the Scenic Rim near the township of Boonah.
We have been providing unique learning opportunities in outdoor and adventurous settings to teachers and students throughout Queensland since 1975. Our strength is our commitment to providing every individual with memorable and valuable learning experiences.
Our services are available to students and staff from primary, secondary and special education campuses. Other Department of Education and Training personnel, tertiary education and community groups may also access the Centre. Our cabins allow clients to remain on site throughout their visit.
Maroon Outdoor Education Centre has a Principal, Deputy Principal, 12 teachers and skilled ancillary officers. They possess a wide range of abilities and expertise in outdoor education.
We provide programs that assist in preparing students for their future at school, at home or at work. Our outdoor classroom includes access to private land, nearby National Parks, State Forests and Reserves together with the facilities at Maroon Outdoor Education Centre.
