Applications for a booking at Maroon OEC during the 2025 school year open on Monday 22nd of April 2024, and will close on Friday 14th of June 2024.

Maroon OEC is a Department of Education school that values learning through community living and active engagement in camping, bushwalking, team building, aquatics and high challenge activities.

Maroon OEC provides bushwalking and camping opportunities to further enhance student growth through experiencing real responsibility.  Maroon OEC is committed to the value of campout and this is reflected in prioritising the acceptance of booking applications that include campout.

Applications will be prioritised as outlined in our booking selection policy.  Successful applicant schools will be advised of the outcome of their application by  the end of term 3.

The following information will help to inform your booking application decisions:

1.Teamwork, Resilience, Connection and Leadership program

2. School Curriculum program

Maroon Outdoor Education Centre Booking Policy

As Maroon Outdoor Education Centre is a Department of Education school, priority is given to applications from other DET schools. All bookings are assessed on the educational merits of the application, and the Centre's ability to accommodate a particular group during any individual academic week.

Bookings will be offered to schools after all applications have been assessed and prioritised. Top priority is given to applications that maximise the use of the Centre's educational resources.  (Generally the Centre can accommodate a maximum of 168 students in beds or provide a program for a maximum of 8 groups.)

Late applications will not be considered in the booking process, but will be placed on a booking waiting list.  Schools will be notified of the outcome usually by week six, term three.

Community groups (weekends only)

Community groups wishing to apply for a booking must contact the Centre directly. These bookings do not open until the new year.
